Atval is a market leader in this type of
pinch valve, which is
manufactured in South Africa. All items are manufactured at Atvals Wadeville
works. The "HEART" of the pinch valve is the sleeve which can be manufactured
from a number of different elastomers, with recommended working pressures of up
to 60 Bar C.W.P. The field replaceable ATVAL pinch valve sleeves are the only valve part in contact
with the pipeline fluid. The full bore design of the "K" & "KE" Series virtually
eliminates friction losses throughout the valve, whilst the double
acting-closing feature allows maximum sleeve life and drop-tight closure. These
valves are particularly well suited for throttling control of abrasive and
corrosive fluids and the heavy-duty wall section in the closing area ensures
good control and long wear life.

"K" SERIES VALVE refers to the OPEN FRAME DESIGN where the
sleeve is the only item between the pipeline medium and the operator. Sleeves do
fail, if only from normal wear, therefore we do not normally recommend this
design for line pressures in excess of 12 Bar. Neither should they be placed in
enclosed areas, near delicate equipment or walkways and gangways.
"KE" SERIES VALVE refers to the ENCLOSED BODY DESIGN where the body acts as a
further protection. The body is designed to have greater burst strength than the
sleeve. Therefore should the sleeve burst, the body will contain the resultant
release of the pipeline medium.
These valves are manufactured from the highest quality materials. They are
expensive as an initial purchase, but their extensive life cycle combined with
minimum maintenance requirements, makes them exceptionally cost effective. They
are one of the most simple and efficient valves available, being simply a short
length of rubber hose pinched together by a double acting vice |
